Washington, D.C. – The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) is hosting its annual Convention & Learning Retreat July 14-18, 2004, at The Fairmont Orchid, Big Island, Hawaii. The annual ANLA event provides green industry owners and executives with opportunities to experience interactive, business-changing education on leadership, profitability and performance.
“Progress In Paradise” kicks off July 14 with the Welcome Beach Barbeque, followed by three days of educational sessions, tours and good old-fashioned fun. Educational sessions include two “Perspective Shifting” sessions on leadership and industry trends, two interactive education sessions and the “Sunrise Issues” session on legislation. The perspective shifting sessions will be led by Lance Secretan, author of “!nspire! – What Great Leaders Do,” and Dr. Paul Pearsall, author of “The Beethoven Factor.” Both speakers will facilitate interactive breakout sessions following their presentations.
The three-day peruse through paradise also includes two dynamic tours. Michael McCullough, landscape manager at The Fairmont Orchid, will lead a tour that highlights the property’s transition from lava to landscape. “Production in Paradise: A Tour of the Big Island’s Horticulture and Agriculture Community” will include stops at Floral Resources Hawaii, Inc, and Kalapana Tropicals.
The convention will end with an unforgettable luau filled with lavish Hawaiian food and a colorful Polynesian revue. Complete program and registration information will be available in April. Stay tuned to www.anla.org for more information.
