ANLA Hosts Management Clinic Early Bird Blog Spectacular

The event, Dec. 18, will feature a new post every hour.

The American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) will host the Clinic Early Bird Blog Spectacular on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2009, the last day it offers the Early Bird registration discount for the 2009 ANLA Management Clinic. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., ANLA will post a new entry every hour on the 2009 Management Clinic blog, Managing Through Tough Times. Industry leaders, including business owners, consultants, and editors, will provide ideas for managing costs, driving sales, targeting new customers and motivating staff in the midst of strong economic concerns.

“Nothing like this has been done before in the green industry,” said ANLA Board Member, Matt Horn, Matterhorn Nursery (New York). “The Clinic blog was designed to expand the education beyond our meeting in Louisville. This event brings together some big industry names to share their perspective on the tough challenges facing our industry and our businesses right now.”

Green Industry thought leaders including business owner Dale Deppe, Spring Meadow Nursery (Michigan); consultant Marcus vandeVliet, the professor of ANLA’s Landscape Masters program; and Ellen Wells, editor of Green Profit magazine, will post throughout the day on the strategies, practices and outlooks they are witnessing and using to find stability and success in the year ahead.  Ken Long, president of Garden Centers of America’s (GCA) President, will also provide a featured post. For 2009, ANLA is extending ANLA members-only pricing to members of GCA and OFA (an Association of Floriculture Professionals). Both organizations will extend member pricing for select educational events to the members of ANLA.
