ANLA joins OFA for the 2008 Short Course

The association will join the Association of Floriculture Professionals for the educational and trade show event, held in Columbus, Ohio.

Next summer, the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) will join OFA – an Association of Floriculture Professionals for their annual Short Course, a U.S. floriculture educational and trade show event, held in Columbus, Ohio. ANLA will hold their Annual Meeting prior to the start of the Short Course.  ANLA will also partner with OFA on several education sessions.

“Both of our memberships are selling products through the same supply chain to the same consumers,” says Bobby Barnitz, OFA’s president. “That makes this a natural partnership.”

Both OFA and ANLA have members whose business activities include landscape design/build and garden retailing as well as growing under glass, in containers, and in the field.

“OFA has long supported ANLA’s government advocacy efforts which address issues like labor and immigration reform that affect both our memberships,” says Dwight Hughes, ANLA’s president. “We welcome this opportunity to work together and expose our leadership to the impressive education and trade show OFA puts on each year.”

The OFA Short Course, held July 12-15, 2008, will attract 10,000 visitors from around the world. Floriculture industry leaders will take advantage of more than 130 education sessions and the 1,400-booth trade show.
