American Nursery & Landscape Association leaders participated in the recent groundbreaking for a new, state-of-the-art USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) research facility in Poplarville, Miss.
ANLA leaders Dan Batson and Jim Berry, staff member John Meredith and others joined distinguished panelists including Rep. Gene Taylor, MS Agriculture Commissioner Lester Spell and USDA-ARS’ Judy St. John. Batson gave a speech, challenging attendees and researchers to make the most of the potential the new facility will bring to the nursery industry. The center is expected to play a significant role in future nursery and floriculture research, with a major emphasis on plant breeding and development.
