Washington, D.C. – The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) announces the launch of the Seasonal Worker Healthcare Assistance Plan – a program for green industry firms that employ a seasonal workforce. With this plan, employers can offer their employees access to affordable healthcare assistance starting at $3.95 per week, at no cost to the employer.

In today’s economy, cost is a major factor to consider in both business and personal decisions, especially when it comes to healthcare. Everyone is looking to get the most for their money. The Seasonal Worker Healthcare Assistance Plan is designed with cost benefits for both the employee and the employer. Employees may select one of three levels of coverage: Level 1 at $3.95 per week, Level 2 at $6.45 per week and Level 3 at $10.45 per week. Each level progressively offers higher monetary coverage and additional benefit options. Employers enjoy the benefits of making this plan available to employees at no cost. Added benefits for employers include improved recruiting and lower turnover, less absenteeism, better employee relations and simple administration.

The Seasonal Worker Healthcare Assistance Plan offers options for: doctor/emergency room visits; preventive care visits; accidental medical; hospitalization; term life/ accidental death coverage, discount prescription/ physician networks; and dental/ vision programs. Availability of options is dependent upon the level of coverage selected by the employee. Employees of ANLA member firms cannot be turned down for coverage and have the freedom to select their own physicians. This is a supplemental medical plan and should not be offered in place of or as a major medical plan.

The Seasonal Worker Healthcare Assistance Plan is a low-cost, limited benefit medical plan endorsed by the ANLA for the landscape and nursery workforce. For more information, please call ANLA headquarters at (202) 789-2900.
