Out on a limb looking for Certified Arborist Exam study materials? Tree care workers preparing to take the test later in 2004 still have time to register for the Arborists’ & Tree Care Workers’ Certification Preparation Course to be held in Brea, Calif. Coordinated by Certified Arborist and University of California Professor Emeritus Ted Stamen, sessions for the 12-week course will be held on Wednesday evenings between Feb. 18 and May 5, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with a break during the week of April 7.
The cost is $750 for the full course, handouts, plant samples, weekly refreshments and other related information, and a $90 study guide is included. Alternatively, candidates who only need to brush up on certain areas may opt to attend single sessions for $70 each including the overall review session.
“The course is taught by a team of experienced, well-respected specialists ranging in expertise from pruning and rigging to plant pathology and law,” notes Stamen who also will be a presenter. The course schedule is as follows:
Though Stamen notes that “the course is designed to assist individuals preparing for the ISA certification examination for arborists or tree workers, others may wish to take this course to stay up-to-date with the latest technology in the care and management of trees.” Individuals who already have earned their arborist certifications can obtain 33 continuing education hours through this course.
