To earn this laurel, each had to meet specific prerequisites in the areas of measurable experience, formal education, related credentials, and professional experience. They also had to successfully complete a150 question scenario-based exam.

The exam -- based on a job analysis survey of American and Canadian arborists and developed by a panel of industry experts -- tested Blome's, Matkovich's and Provost's knowledge of arboricultural science, practice and management.

Blome, Matkovich and  Provost are three of the eight Board-Certified Master Arborists in Illinois. There are a total of 120 Board-Certified Master Arborists internationally.
