A man has been officially charged after Gilbert police said he gunned down a landscaper who was sent to trim the trees in the front yard of the home he and his wife rented last week.
A Maricopa County grand jury indicted Wyatt Ford on Tuesday on one count of second-degree murder.
According to court records, Ford thought the 51-year-old Manuel Vega Lopez had tried to steal and vandalize a trailer parked in his driveway in a neighborhood north of Queen Creek and Recker roads. Apparently, Lopez’s pickup looked similar to the vandal’s.
