ASLA Issues Call for Presentations

Proposals for education sessions at the 2005 Annual Meeting & EXPO are due Jan. 14.

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is seeking proposals for education sessions at the 2005 Annual Meeting & EXPO, to be held Oct. 7 to 11, 2005 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The call for proposals is available at http://www.asla.org/meetings/am2005/call.html.

Of particular interest to ASLA are advanced-level sessions on a number of suggested topics, including natural and cultural resources; residential design; practice management and business; parks and recreation; ADA; “green” issues such as green roofs, wetland mitigation, and brownfield reclamation; water issues; transportation; design for active living; security design; and many others.

ASLA is seeking presentation proposals from landscape architects, architects, engineers, planners, and other allied design and environmental professionals, as well as educators, suppliers, professional service providers, and technology experts. Presenters selected for the Annual Meeting receive complimentary registration ($390 value for members, $790 value for non-members) and publication in the 2005 Annual Meeting Abstracts, in addition to the opportunity to share their expertise and receive recognition from thousands of colleagues attending the sessions.

Only electronic submissions using the online format will be accepted. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Jan. 14 at 11:59 pm EST. Mailed or faxed submittals will not be accepted. Changes may be made to the original online submission until the deadline.
