“This is a great day for both B-K Lighting and Teka Illumination,” said Douglas Hagen, president and CEO of B-K Lighting. “We realized from the outset what tremendous synergies there were between the brands. While our markets are very similar, there is no obsolescence from duplicative products. Teka’s quality and use of enduring metals is a wonderful extension of B-K Lighting’s ‘Quality To Last a Life Time’ commitment.”
Hagen added that Teka “will continue to operate as an independent company with its own brand identity, literature, and network of independent sales representatives working to ensure its continued success.”
Kim Routh, president of Teka Illumination agreed that the companies will work well together and was pleased with the logistics of the acquisition. “The employees at Teka Illumination are truly excited to be part of the B-K Lighting family,” Routh, said. “B-K’s commitment to continue manufacturing at our Templeton, Calif. plant ensures that our employees have continuity and that our operation will continue to grow.”
B-K Lighting and Teka Illumination are headquartered in Medera, Calif., and Templeton, Calif., respectively. The companies manufacture standard and custom fixtures for the architectural and landscape lighting markets. Teka Illuminations utilizes brass, copper, bronze and stainless steel materials in its production, while B-K Lighting produces machined aluminum, brass and stainless steel products available with a number of polyester powder-coated finishes.
