Ball Launches Web Site

Redesigned ballhort.com provides one-stop access to more information.

Ball Horticultural Co. launched its completely redesigned Web site at ballhort.com. The new site provides one convenient location for growers, retailers, landscapers and home gardeners to find out about plants, products and programs available from Ball.

The new ballhort.com combines information from six formerly independent websites, organized by audience (growers, retailers, nursery, etc.) to create a portal for site visitors to easily find the best, most up-to-date information that is most relevant to them.

“With an all-new look, streamlined navigation and content-rich pages, ballhort.com is now the easy landing point for anyone interested in horticulture – whether they’re growing plants in the greenhouse or nursery, selling them at retail, installing commercial landscapes or creating containers in the backyard – to find information quickly,” says Diane Hund, director of marketing for Ball. “It’s one address that now serves all of our audiences.”

Highlights of the new ballhort.com include:

  • An Add Your Business function that allows greenhouse and nursery growers as well as retailers to list their businesses – including which crops they sell – in a searchable database. Businesses’ information is password-protected, making it secure.
  • A Knowledge Base section that includes nearly 100 commonly asked questions and answers for all audience segments, with more to come.
  • An all-new Sustainable Solutions section with details about sustainable products and programs available from Ball.
  • All the best features of previous websites – such as complete culture information, downloadable PDFs and more – plus new features like comprehensive lists of Ball Exclusives and dropped products.

“This launch is only the beginning,” Hund says. “We will continue to update the site to provide the best, most useful information to our customers and their customers. Our goal is to eventually provide a global, multi-lingual platform for all online content from Ball.”
