Bartlett Announces Two Additional Acquisitions

The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Co. announced Monday that it has expanded its presence in Sonoma County, Calif. through its acquisition of the business operations of Arbor Care. Bartlett Tree Experts, one of the world’s leading tree and shrub care companies, currently has offices in 25 U.S. states including six in California.

“By acquiring Arbor Care, we have an excellent opportunity to further grow our business and better serve customers in California,” said Greg Daniels, president of Bartlett Tree Experts. “Sonoma County residents and business owners can now benefit from the combination of Arbor Care’s local knowledge and expertise with Bartlett’s global resources, state-of-the-art research facilities and cutting-edge technology.”

Additionally, the company announced the acquisition of Vancouver, British Columbua-based Arbour Care Tree Conservation Services. Through this acquisition, Bartlett will further expand its presence in Vancouver, particularly on the North Shore. For Arbour Care, the agreement will enable them to broaden the plant health care services they provide including leading-edge soil management and insect and disease suppression methodologies.

“Bartlett entered the Canadian market in 1997 and we’ve been growing there ever since” Daniels said.  “Combining Arbour Care’s local knowledge and expertise with our existing Vancouver office will enable us to better serve local customers.”

Jeremy Gye, president of Arbour Care agreed. “By joining forces with Bartlett, we are able to complete our vision of providing state-of-the-art scientific tree care to our clients,” he said. “To me, one of the most exciting aspects of this agreement is the progressive manner in which Bartlett empowers and cares for their employees and the rewarding work experience this will create for the Arbour Care staff.” 

These announcements mark the second and third acquisitions that Bartlett has made this month, and bring the company's total number of acquisitions to five since December 2004. The company purchased Toronto, Ontario-based Bostock Tree Service in December, followed by Hartshorne Tree Service in Vancouver, British Columbia later that month. Last week, Bartlett headed Southeast with the acquisition of Wake Forest, N.C.-based Jordan Tree Care.
