Bartlett Patents RootMaintenance Process

STAMFORD, Conn. – Tree care has come a long way. Advances in science and technology have yielded many techniques that more effectively protect trees and shrubs. This week, Bartlett announced that it has taken tree care even further by making its innovative, new Root-Rx Root Invigoration process the first patented root maintenance process in all of arboriculture.  

Root-Rx is the result of extensive research and testing conducted by the scientists at the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories in Charlotte, N.C. The new process relies on an apparatus modeled after supersonic air tools originally developed by the U.S. military and the utility industry. Bartlett uses an Air Spade™ to break up compacted soil and then mixes in organic mater and nutrients to promote root growth – without damaging the roots or digging trenches in the landscape.
