Bartlett Tree Experts Expands into Five New Operating Areas

The company recently added offices in East Hanover, N.J., Columbus, Ohio, Princess Anne, Md. and Houston and San Marcos, Texas.

As Bartlett Tree Experts celebrates 100 years of business in the arboricultural industry, the company is also nearing another milestone – 100 office locations in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Ireland.  With the recent addition of offices in East Hanover, N.J., Columbus, Ohio, Princess Anne, Md. and Houston and San Marcos, Texas, Bartlett now has over 95 locations and is continually looking for growth opportunities.

The five offices opened earlier this year as the result of the acquisition of tree care companies in these areas.  Bartlett also expanded its existing operations in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, North Carolina, Florida, California, New Jersey and New York through other acquisitions in 2006 and 2007.

“What a year for our company! We’re celebrating our centennial and the growth we’ve experienced over the past 100 years,” says Robert A. Bartlett, Jr., chairman of Bartlett Tree Experts.  “When my grandfather founded this company, it was one small office.  Thanks to generations of talented employees as well as a continued commitment to advancing arboriculture through science, we’ve been growing ever since!”

For employees that join the company through acquisition, Bartlett offers excellent benefits, career development and unique training opportunities at the 350-acre Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories in Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to Ron Howell, who recently sold his tree care business to Bartlett, the decision to sell was difficult but Bartlett, and its people, helped make the transition easy.

“This whole process has been a great experience,” Howell says.  “The people have been so welcoming and the training I attended at the research labs was eye-opening. The scientific knowledge and resources this company brings to the industry, and to its clients, is amazing.  I’m really excited about the opportunities I’ll have here with Bartlett.”
