Bayer Adds Lawn Care Specialist to Southeastern Area

Dave Ravel will work with lawn care companies in the area extending from Atlanta to Maryland to implement new management programs.

Dave Ravel has joined Bayer Environmental Science as a lawn care specialist, with responsibility for the area from Atlanta through Maryland. In his new position, Ravel will work directly with lawn care companies in the southeastern states, helping them develop new programs to better manage their businesses.

“Dave’s marketing knowledge, combined with his experience managing a lawn care company and his work with ornamentals and tree care, will be invaluable in his new position,” noted Jim Davis, area manager, South, Bayer Environmental Science. “He has a lot to offer the lawn care companies in his region.”

Previously, Ravel was a district manager for the Midwest, covering the turf and ornamental market for Syngenta Crop Protection, based in Greensboro, N.C. He also was programs manager for Syngenta Professional Products for two years and senior marketing specialist in the turf and ornamental market for Novartis for three-and-a-half years.

Before that, Ravel managed the York, Pa., branch of J.C. Ehrlich Lawn and Tree Care Company from 1995 through 1997. During that time, he handled lawn care, tree care, vegetation management and arbor care operations for the southeastern Pennsylvania branch. He also worked as a sales representative for Ehrlich for two years.

Originally from Reading, Pa., Ravel graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in enviornmental education. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from Frederick Taylor University. He is an ISA-certified arborist, a certified turfgrass professional through PLCAA and a member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America.
