MONTVALE, NJ – Bayer Environmental Science has announced that Sam Snyder and Ben Cicero have joined the company as field sales representative in northern Ohio. Both are responsible for selling the entire portfolio of Chipco Professional Products for the turf and ornamental industries.
Prior to joining Bayer, Snyder was a long-time golf course superintendent. He began his career at Punxsutawney Country Club, Punxsutawney, Pa., with stops at Grandview Golf Club, Curwensville, Pa; Sheraton Golf Links, Greensburg, Pa; and Colonial Country Club, Harrisburg, Pa. Most recently, he was director of facilities and grounds at Hercules Country Club, Wilmington, Del.
Snyder became a Certified Golf Course Superintendent in 1984, successfully renewing three times to date. As a golf course superintendent, Snyder had 12 former assistants who achieved superintendent status. He also mentored numerous association board members while working with a various state and regional golf course superintendant associations.
“Sam’s hands-on experience as a golf course superintendent gives him valuable insight into how our products can help golf course superintendents as well as those in the lawn and landscape industry in northern Ohio,” says Neil Cleveland, area manager, north, Bayer Environmental Science.
Before joining Bayer, Cicora was a field service representative for Dow AgroSciences in Columbus, Ohio. While with Dow, Cicora increased sales by 61 percent in two years, managed 150 distributor representatives in three states and grew his primary account by 41 percent in a one-year period.
“Ben has experience working in the industry, which gives him valuable knowledge and insight into how our products can help those in the golf course and lawn and landscape industries,” Cleveland recalled.
Cicora graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. in agriculture. He currently resides in Grove City, Ohio.
