Bayer Holds Southern Sports Turf Seminar

Sports turf professionals meet at Bank of America Stadium for a day-long seminar.

More than 40 sports turf professionals from North and South Carolina gathered recently for the Southern Sports Turf Seminar at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Sponsored by Bayer Environmental Science, the seminar offered attendees the opportunity to meet with, and view presentations by, leading industry researchers.

The seminar included presentations by Fred Yelverton, Grady Miller and research specialist Casey Reynolds of North Carolina State University. Providing attendees with the latest university research insights, the speakers discussed issues including transition management of bermudagrass sports turf, traffic tolerance and other agronomic trends.

Bruce Monke of Bayer Environmental Science concluded the seminar by highlighting the benefits of products such as Revolver Herbicide use on sports turf. Attendees also toured the playing fields with Tom Vaughan, head groundskeeper at Bank of America Stadium. Vaughan answered questions on issues such as chemical application methods and contending with excessive traffic amongst other issues commonly faced by sports turf professionals.
