Brunkswick, Ga. – BlueYellow, which was recently acquired by Koch Cellulose, announced the addition of three new employees: John Martin, an agronomist and former superintendent at a number of golf courses across the country who has worked in the professional golf course industry since 1989; Jacqueline Wurtz, a retail marketing and sales manager with experience in both biological science and introducing new products to retail markets; and Cindy Peeples, a customer care manager with experience in production planning and logistics.
Martin holds a BS in agronomy from Austin Peay State University, and was most recently superintendent at Eagle Ranch Golf Course, an Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Eagle, Colo. He served as President of the Eagle Valley Environmental Golf Course Association and has worked with leading golf course architectural and construction companies. Martin will use his experience and education to help provide technical and professional support to customers in BlueYellow golf and landscape installations.
Wurtz holds a BS in Economics from the University of Vermont, and will draw on her experience to help launch BlueYellow to retail customers and support expansion in the professional landscaping sector. Peeples will be a principle contact for customers, ensuring BlueYellow products are distributed smoothly across the country.
“The tremendous response to BlueYellow from the golf and landscape markets has demanded that we grow our organization more quickly than we had originally planned,” says Peter Abitz, commercial director for BlueYellow Engineered Turf System. “We are pleased to have Cindy, Jacquie and John on board with us to support the growth of this business. The talent and energy these three individuals bring to our organization will ensure that this innovative product continues to earn its reputation as ‘The Smartest Way to Make Green.’”
BlueYellow is available through John Deere Golf & Turf One Source, a full-service platform designed to meet a wide variety of needs for golf course superintendents across North America. It can also be ordered for all other applications by calling 800-667-3268. A distribution network for non-golf applications is being built, and will include retail stores, landscape suppliers, and wholesalers alike.
