Capture photographs that can shape the image of your company with a few helpful pointers from Traven Pelletier, whose company, BLOOM! Garden Center and Elemental Design, is represented on HOUZZ with hundreds of pictures.
Creative angles. Rather than the straight-on point-of-view shots, grab people’s attention with fresh angles. For example, hone in on a plant detail while allowing a wash of hardscape to fall into the background. Or, capture woodwork detail with a clear-sky backdrop.
Challenge the photog. Not confident about your photography skills? Recruit a friend, or professional. “Challenge this person to think outside of the box and make your work stand out,” Pelletier says.
Show the big picture. An overview shot of a project will give a sense of the scope, scale and context – the surrounding environment (such as the home).
