MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. - Century Rain Aid, a distributor of landscape irrigation equipment and low voltage lighting products, has announced the opening of 19 new branches throughout the U.S. These new additions to the Madison Heights, Mich.-based company bring the Century location total to more than 160 branches serving the U.S., Canada and Caribbean Basin.
The new locations will soon become part of John Deere Landscapes following the announcement May 30, 2001, that John Deere has reached a deal to purchase Century’s parent company, Richton International (see John Deere Makes Deal Of A Century).
The new Century branches are located in:

- Libertyville, Ill.
- Indianapolis, Ind.
- Brighton, Mich.
- Plymouth Township, Mich.
- Southern St. Paul, Minn.
- Northern Kansas City, Mo.
- Las Vegas, Nev.
- Portsmouth, N.H.
- Hamilton Township, N.J.
- East Rochester, N.Y.
- Hopewell Junction, N.Y.
- Holland, Ohio
- West Chester, Ohio
- Medford, Ore.
- Portland, Ore.
- Everett, Wash.
- Kent, Wash.
"Our new locations give us an opportunity to better serve professional landscape contractors in growing markets," said Wayne Miller, president, Century Rain Aid. He said that the stores carry inventories of sprinklers, valves, controllers and pumps, as well as landscape lighting components.
Century branches carry products from several industry manufacturers, including Rain Bird, Hunter Industries, Irritrol, Hunter Golf, Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting, Kichler Lighting, Berkeley and SyncroFlo pumps.
Century also offers a range of professional services for landscape contractors, including irrigation system design and planning, guaranteed material take-offs, education and training programs, on-site deliveries, job referrals and the Century Point Program.
Over the last 12 months, Century has opened or acquired nearly 50 new branch locations throughout the U.S.
