A new certification program for Texas irrigators is being developed by Texas Turf Irrigation Association (TTIA) under the direction and guidance of the Association Board of Trustees. "We want to continue to be involved in educating our industry and we feel this program will give us that opportunity," stated David Brannan, TTIA president.
This certification program will not include golf or agriculture irrigation -- strictly for irrigators involved in residential and commercial irriation. This program objective will be to recognize and increase the knowledge of irrigation professionals who have participated in the industry as a licensed irrigator for a minimum of three years. An irrigator can begin the process before three years, but certification cannot be given until that point.
The course requirements will be offered at different times of the year and probably will be given in various parts of the state. The exact beginning time and course locations have not yet been determined.
