Christmas Décor expands offerings, seeks out new markets

The company has expanded its low-voltage landscape lighting for uses beyond the holiday season.

IRVING TEXAS - Christmas Decor, a professional holiday and event decorating service industry, is expanding its service offering and looking to add locations in more than 45 markets in the next two years.

Christmas Decor, which has been franchising its holiday & event decorating business concept since 1996, has service locations in more than 300 markets in 49 states and Canada. The company’s strategy includes adding support, training and systems for low-voltage landscape lighting, permanent RGB roof lighting and outdoor color-changing lighting technology to existing and new franchises.

The company has been in the low-voltage landscape lighting business since 1998 with their Nite Time Decor brand, and has a private-label product line, along with complete training, education, pricing systems, maintenance programs and more. Over the last five years, the company has helped develop a line of RGB lighting products for all applications, including individually-addressable MR16 RGB bulbs, bistro lights and strip lights. The company also partnered with Inception Lighting to develop the PermaLites365 line of permanent roof lighting with individually-addressable diodes, which offers the end user the ability to create any pattern, such as red/white/blue for Independence Day, or the color of the local high school team.

“We build deep relationships with our franchisees, and we want to go even deeper by helping them build profitable, year-round businesses with our concepts,” said Brandon Stephens, president of The Decor Group. “Christmas Decor has always been a seasonal bolt-on—and is still very effective as such. But our franchises want more—they want a year-round offering where they can have employees who are actively engaged in these specialty services throughout the year. They will still need to shift some of their crews back and forth for seasonal production, but these specialty offerings have tremendous margins—and they want to offer something beyond the Christmas season.

“Our objective is to give our franchises everything they need to have a year-round presence in the specialty services market,” he added. “As margins continue to erode in some green industry service segments, we want to give our franchises an offset to that.”

Stephens notes that companies who are currently in the franchise network, as well as those who join, will be offered training and support in the additional service lines, and will be offered exclusivity in most of the products offered by the company.

“Over the years, we’ve maintained valuable and loyal relationships with our franchise network,” Stephens said. “What better way for us to expand footprint than to be a comprehensive specialty services solution for them, while helping them build healthier businesses. Everyone wins.”
