UKIAH, Calif. – The California Interior Plantscape Association (CIPA) announced the educational program for its CalScape Expo Aug. 28-30 in San Francisco and Hall of Fame winners, who will be honored at the show’s awards banquet.
Keynote speaker is Doug Trenary, who will present, “The Service Mind: Interiorscape Case Studies.” Trenary will outline 11 steps for developing customer loyalty, and he will discuss a series of case studies illustrating challenges specific to the interiorscape industry. Those who register for CalScape Expo before Aug. 5 may participate in an anonymous survey in which Trenary will evaluate their service strategies and incorporate their companies into the case studies discussion.
Additional topics on the agenda include: training the trainer, raising standards, pest identification and management and a subirrigation forum. Attendees also can visit the trade show and participate in a roundtable lunch, color bowl design competition and the CIPA awards ceremony and Hall of Fame banquet.
CIPA’s four Hall of Fame inductees for 2002 will be recognized at the awards ceremony. The Interiorscape Professional inductee is Steve McCurdy, owner, The Majestic Group, England. Allied Trade Professional inductees are Jeff Morey, publisher, Interiorscape magazine, and Jean Youmans of Pottery Distribution, Santa Cruz, Calif. Finally, the 2002 Posthumous inductee is Karl Korstad, Sedgefield Interior Landscapes, Marietta, Ga.
