The Canadian Nursery Landscape Association regrets to announce the discontinuation of the merchant financial services member benefit program with Moneris Solutions due to disappointing customer service and unreasonable rate hikes.

Moneris Solutions had a long time relationship with CNLA to provide members with discounted Visa, MasterCard and Interac processing rates and service charges. Theirs has been one of the most successful programs and many members have taken advantage of the special rates, not available to individual companies outside the CNLA, for their merchant processing needs.
As of late, the association reports that a lack of service Moneris provided to CNLA members and seemingly constant rate hikes have caused much confusion and concern about the program.
”We asked Moneris to address these issues and unfortunately they would not change any service methods or offer better rates to our members,” notes a press release in the most recent issue of CNLA’s Newsrbief. “They were generally unwilling to work with us towards a better program.”
As a result, CNLA will not renew the contract with Moneris when it comes up for review May 31. Additionally, the organization will no longer refer members to the Moneris program.
Current Moneris users are asked to look at their monthly statements to ensure rates have not increased past 1.75 percent for Visa charges or 1.91 percent for MasterCard. Once the contract ends, rate increases will come at Moneris’s discretion.
