Converted Organics Increases Production Capacity at California Facility

Plant will be open to receive and process increased quantities of food waste into organic fertilizer and soil amendment products by Oct. 3.

Converted Organics announced today that the company has received and is installing new equipment in its Gonzales, Calif., manufacturing facility to increase its capacity to accept and process food waste into organic fertilizer and soil amendment products. The plant will be open to receive and process increased quantities of food waste by Oct. 3.

"Increased production capacity is critical to Converted Organics' commitment to meet growing market demand for our organic fertilizer and soil amendment products," said Edward J. Gildea, president of Converted Organics. "The increase in our food waste processing capacity at our Gonzales facility, which has been planned since we acquired the site in January, will deliver on our commitment to convert the plant into a food waste processing facility and will immediately benefit Converted Organics' customers."

Converted Organics is installing new food conveying and contaminant detection equipment to facilitate production of its organic liquid and solid fertilizers via the Company's proprietary High Temperature Liquid Composting (HTLC) process. The HTLC system is a proven, state-of-the-art microbial digestion technology that processes various biodegradable food waste products into liquid and solid organic-based fertilizer.
