Crompton Corp. and Great Lakes Chemical Corp. have merged to form Chemtura, one of the largest publicly traded specialty chemicals companies in the United States and one of the top producers and marketers of plastics additives in the world.

Over the next few months, the company ywill build the new Chemtura Web site at www.chemtura.com. Until the site is ready, customers can find information about the company's products at the former Crompton and Great Lakes Web sites.
According to a March 9 announcement of the companies' planned merger, Chemtura will have pro forma 2004 revenue of more than $4.1 billion. The new company will be owned 51 percent by Crompton shareholders and 49 percent by Great Lakes shareholders.
