FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The inaugural Work Truck Show Editors' Choice Award for New Product Innovation launched during the Work Truck Show 2005, held March 2 through 4 in Indianapolis, Ind. The award resulted in a tie between Crysteel Mfg., Crystal Lake, Minn., and Rostra Precision Controls, Laurinburg, N.C. The Work Truck Show was held in conjunction with the 41st Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention.

The award recognizes the best new product or product innovation among exhibiting companies participating in the New Product Spotlight and New Product Media Guide programs. They nearly 50 trade magazine editors representing 70 industry publications were invited to cast a vote, with the exhibitor receiving the highest number of votes winning the award.
The winning products were Rostra’s Rearsight/Passive Reach Camera System and Crysteel’s ProMax Super Dump.
Developed specifically for straight trucks in Class 3 through 7 fleet applications, Rostra’s RearSight sees and displays objects that mirrors can’t see, even in poor wedding conditions. The Passive Rear Camera System uses a unique, high-quality color camera that can be installed in the spoiler, door latch, bumper or other locations. An in-cab monitor displays a 110- to 160-degree wide-angle view from the rear of the vehicle.

Crysteel’s ProMax Super Dump features an air-suspension trailing axle that offers greater capacity, excellent stability and easy operation. Easy cleanout is enhanced by a hydraulic tailgate.
As the country’s largest gathering of Class 1 through Class 8 commercial trucks and equipment, the Work Truck Show 2005 featured 460 exhibiting companies. Highlights of the event may be viewed at www.ntea.com.
