The Davey Tree Expert Company has added another company to its growing list of industry acquisitions.
The Kent, Ohio-based organization has expanded its Commercial Grounds Management division – again. This time, the company purchased a lawn care firm in Tampa, Fla. Top Gun Landscape, Inc. is Davey’s twelfth acquisition in the past 18 months.
“When it comes to acquisitions, our primary objective has always been to find a company that its Davey’s strategic goals,” noted Karl Warnke, president and chief operating officer of the company. “Top Gun does just that.”
The recent deal unites Top Gun’s staff – including the company’s founder, Ed Bernard – with Davey’s existing crew in the Tampa area. Under the acquisition’s terms, former Top Gun accounts will now be serviced by Davey’s Tampa commercial division office, headed by Joe Kitchie.
Top Gun and Davey executives see the arrangement as a win-win situation for both green companies – and their Tampa-area clients.
“Independently, Top Gun and Davey have been providing Tamp with excellent service,” Bernard asserted. “Both companies provide services that complement each other very well. We will be able to use that to provide quality service to our clients.”

Thornton Grounds Care – Cincinnati, Ohio
Tree Care by Professionals – Houston, Texas
