The Davey Tree Expert Company has promoted Don Roppolo to vice president, health & safety operations support.
“Don earned this promotion through a career of leading by example with the highest levels of integrity,” says Greg Ina, executive vice president, Davey Institute. “He holds all meaningful credentials and brings a culture of learning to his teams.”
Roppolo joined Davey in 2008, serving in crew leader, foreman and regional trainer roles before joining the recruiting team in 2011. In 2016, he was promoted to manager of arboricultural training for the education and training department. In his most recent role, he served as director of arborist training within the Davey Institute.
Roppolo was the former president of Illinois Arborist Association and the Society of Commercial Arboriculture. He is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist and holds ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist and Certified Tree Worker Aerial Lift Specialist certifications. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with an emphasis in urban forestry from Western Illinois University and a master’s degree in natural resources with a concentration in urban forestry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
