MOLINE, Ill. - The John Deere Worldwide Commercial and Consumer Equipment Division has recalled several of its BP50 Blowers, citing the potential risk of fuel tank leaks.
Deere said in its recall statement that: "Inadequate wall thickness on the fuel tank, especially in the area where the tank mounts to the frame, may allow the tank to crack and result in a fuel leak." The fuel leak poses a potential for fire or burn injuries, according to the company.
Deere has recalled the following model and serial numbers of BP50 Blowers (pictured below right):
Model UT08093- (All serial numbers)
- Model UT08104
- (JT0010000 thru JT3659999)
- (JU0010000 thru JU3659999)
- (JB0010000 thru JB3059999)
Deere will replace recalled fuel tanks free of charge at local Deere dealers.
The recall is being done in cooperation with and will be monitored by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
