In his new role, Lange is responsible for the preparation of tree preservation, tree mitigation, and landscape design plans. He will also provide specification writing in response to development requirements in Loudoun County, the Town of Leesburg, and other local jurisdictions in Virginia. In addition, Lange will have responsibilities for technical writing and reporting.
Lange’s unique nature-respective approach to landscape architecture includes the use of native plants and natural materials in the ground plane as elements of the landscape. Being both landscape architect and arborist, he brings together the best qualities of both disciplines to enhance the site plan development process.
In 2002, Lange established The English Oak Foundation, an organization dedicated to the re-greening of the United States through the establishment of dedicated preservation areas and reforested watersheds. In addition, he has written Urban Forestry Management Manuals for several local jurisdictions.
Lange earned dual Bachelor's degrees in forest hydrology and landscape architecture from West Virginia University.
