Dow AgroSciences recently announced the appointment of Tom Linnen as senior sales specialist for the Mid-America Specialties Group, including Turf and Ornamental accounts in Kentucky, Eastern Indiana, Western Ohio and Michigan.
Based in Fishers, Ind., Linnen will work with distributors, formulators, lawn care operators, golf course superintendents and nursery growers to provide them and their customers with the best control solutions for turf and ornamental pest problems.
He joined Dow AgroSciences in 1983, and previously held positions in packaging design, package engineering, customer financial services and purchasing. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y., where he earned a bachelor of science degree.
Dow has also added Randy Smith as a field research biologist for turf and ornamental products – growing the group’s team to three.
Smith will work with university professionals, assuming responsibility for planning and executing field research to define biology and new use areas for exploratory, developmental and commercial turf and ornamental products in the Western states. He previously worked in a similar position with the Southern crops business for Dow AgroSciences.
A weed science graduate of South Dakota University, Smith joined Dow AgroSciences in 2001 following its acquisition of the Rohm and Haas Co.
