Ecoscape Solutions Group of Charlotte, N.C., has acquired the landscape division of Durham, N.C.-based Formatt, a site development firm.
As a result of the acquisition, Ecoscape, a full-service landscape company, will expand its current Southeastern landscape footprint to the Research Triangle and surrounding areas, including Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh, according to a news release. The company also serves markets in South Carolina and Georgia.
The acquisition also adds key commercial and residential accounts to the company’s current platform, growing Ecoscape to a $37-million regional player. With $32 million in revenue in 2007, Ecoscape will rank No. 46 on Lawn & Landscape’s Top 100 list, which will be published in the June issue.
The Formatt acquisition is the company’s second within the last year; in July Ecoscape acquired Benton Landscape Design and Irrigation of Fort Mill, S.C., and its Carolina Hardscapes subsidiary. “We are poised to continue to the company’s growth within its current market while simultaneously expanding the company’s geographic footprint through both greenfield opportunities and strategic acquisitions,” says Ecoscape’s COO and President, Chip Eleazer.
CEO Tony Pope adds: “With our current market position, established reputation, and focused acquisition strategy, we believe Ecoscape is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the strong growth prospects across the Southeast to generate additional growth and profitability.”
