Encore Celebrates 15 Years

Hundreds joined together to celebrate Encore Power Equipment's 15th anniversary.

Beatrice, NE -  Magic and music were in the air as Encore Manufacturing Company celebrated the 15th Anniversary of Encore Power Equipment. Hundreds of company friends and employees celebrated under a big top tent throughout an evening highlighted by music, comedy, magic and special awards at the Beatrice, Nebraska manufacturing company.

Encore president, Dick Tegtmeier, actually opened the celebration a day earlier with special sessions for Encore distributors. "Thanks to this group of distributors and their dealers, the Encore line has had a great anniversary year. They worked with us to make our Anniversary Special Promotion a tremendous success on the Prowler Mid Cut and 48" walk-behinds. Sales of the Prowler Mid Cut increased by unprecedented numbers," said Tegtmeier. "We had a special session to tell those folks thank you, and to listen to what they had to say about taking Encore into the future. We showed them a new mower and some accessories we are about to launch, then we kicked back and had some fun."

Work was put aside for the pleasure of Nebraska steaks and a golf tournament. Then everyone headed to the celebration under the big top. A very special achievement award was presented to plant manager Gary Rogge.

"Gary Rogge represents the unique team at Encore," said Doug Tegtmeier, national sales manager. Plant Manager Gary Rogge, National Service Manager Billy Harms, Chief Engineer Deven McGhee, Office Manager Ann Beatley and Shipping Manager Mark Rogge have all been with Encore since the operation began in 1988.  "We are a small, growing company with a great deal of heart. FIFTY PERCENT of Encore's  employees, including plant assembly and administrative staff, have been with Encore for over 9 years," added Doug Tegtmeier, who is a himself a 10-year employee.

It was 1988 when Doug's father, Dick Tegtmeier, opened the doors of Encore Manufacturing Co. in Beatrice, Nebraska, a central U.S. community of 13,000. Prior to starting Encore, he helped launch the Exmark mower line and was involved in the design of the first commercial mowers at Kees, another long-time Beatrice manufacturer. "Though many companies in our industry have sold to or merged, Encore remains privately owned and family operated - and continues to grow, " said Tegtmeier.  "Our consistent growth for 15 years shows great support from dealers and a very dedicated employee team," concluded Tegtmeier.
