EPA Honors Massey Services

The Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Massey Services, Inc. as a 'champion' for 2003.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The United States Environmental Protection Agency has named Massey Services, Inc., a Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP) “Champion” for 2003.  It’s the second time in two years that the suburban Orlando-based pest prevention, termite protection and lawn, tree & shrub care company has been so honored.

“We are absolutely delighted that the EPA has, for the second consecutive year, recognized the outstanding work being done by our quality assurance team, as well as our service managers, technicians and specialists in the field,” said Harvey Massey, president/CEO of Massey Services. “Our company pioneered the whole concept of pest prevention in the early 1990s so that we wouldn’t have to rely on the indiscriminate use of pesticides in or around a structure. This is a tremendous validation of that effort.”

The citation from the EPA singled out Massey Services, along with 15 other honorees for “…their extraordinary level of commitment to protecting human health and the environment.”

“Being named a PESP Champion is an enormous honor for our people,” Massey added. “It also, we hope, sends a message to consumers everywhere that there are ways and means for preventing pests and protecting against termites that don’t rely on products and techniques that are perceived as having health or environmental concerns.”
