NEW PRAGUE, Minn. – The Evergreen Foundation (EF), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and funding the creation of a national greenway system, has announced its second fund-raiser of the year – a raffle ticket sale for the chance to win a John Deere Trail Gator. Only 400 tickets will be sold for this drawing at a cost of $50 per ticket.
The John Deere Trail Gator utility vehicle is being provided to support the EF's fund-raising efforts, compliments of the John Deere Worldwide Commercial and Consumer Equipment Division.
The raffle will be held in conjunction with the Green Industry Expo 2000 (GIE), November 4-7 in Indianapolis, Ind. The actual drawing will be held November 7, and ticket holders need not be present to win.
Anyone interested in purchasing raffle tickets may call the EF at 877/758-4835 or check the organization’s web site at www.evergreenfoundation.com for the name of a board member to contact. Tickets will also be on sale at the John Deere trade show booth and prior to the Professional Lawn Care Association of America auction at the GIE.
By carefully selecting greenway projects around the United States to fund with cash support and gift-in-kind contributions of work, machinery or materials, the EF hopes to foster a greater appreciation for green spaces in cities and towns.
In addition to participating in the raffle ticket fund-raiser, all interested individuals are invited to join the EF as contributors at one of three levels:
- Green Backers are those who wish to encourage the work of the EF through a contribution of $100.
- Green Supporters are input suppliers/vendors providing monetary or in-kind support. This can include labor/time, supplies, products and more from green industry companies, non-profit associations and others.
- Green Promoters are the media and other companies offering in-kind communications services.
For more information about EF contact Den Gardner, development director, at 877/758-4835 or e-mail at evergreenfound@aol.com.
