Ewing Irrigation is expecting 300 employees from around the country for its groundbreaking Feb. 8 at its new corporate headquarters at 36th Street and University Drive in Phoenix.
The two-story corporate office and warehouse totaling 165,000 square feet is expected to be complete December 2008. Hardison/downey construction inc. is the general contractor and the architect is David Schmitt of David L. Schmitt & Associates Architecture and Planning Inc.
Ewing Irrigation, a wholesale distributor of landscape and irrigation products, currently is located at 3441 E. Harbour Drive in Phoenix, where it relocated from San Leandro, Calif., in 1994.
"Our new building will be nearly six times larger than our current corporate headquarters," said Douglas York, Ewing president in a statement. "Over the last 12 years, our sales have inflated six-fold. We are building a new corporate office to accommodate for present and future growth."
The building will include an exercise room, a hotel-style conference room with available theater seating, a cafeteria and multiple computer rooms.
Established in 1922, Ewing offers commercial and residential irrigation products, landscape and agronomic supplies, low-voltage lighting, erosion control, water features and industrial plastics out of 165 locations nationwide.
