Effective July 1, Ewing Outdoor Supply's Doug York will transition into a new role as strategic advisor and board member, while Tom Childers will succeed York as president & CEO.
"Tom, Ewing’s current chief revenue officer, is a veteran of the green industry with a deep professional background, and since joining our team, he has been a driving force behind initiatives designed to help you succeed, such as our product category diversification and ProAdvantage loyalty program," York wrote in an email addressed to Ewing customers. "In my new role, I will be focusing on business development and strategic acquisitions to ensure we continue expanding our footprint in the markets where you need us most. This aligns with my passions for the industry and expansion, all while allowing me to continue serving the green and distribution industries."
When York took over Ewing in 2001, the company had 95 locations. Now, it's up to 260 stores across 30 states.
"We are incredibly excited about the future of Ewing, and even more excited about the future of your business," York also wrote. "Thank you for your continued partnership and for the trust you place in our family every day."
