Ewing Irrigation, Golf & Industrial will launch 15 new locations this year in new and existing markets.
The Phoenix-based wholesale distributor of landscape, irrigation and industrial products will open locations in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.
“The majority of our locations are concentrated in the western United States, but as market conditions prove favorable, we are planning continual growth out East in order to extend our product lines and services to landscape professionals in those markets,” says Douglas W. York, president of Ewing Irrigation.
As drought conditions in the Southeast continue to worsen, York believes there is an opportunity in drought-stricken markets to educate landscape and irrigation professionals about the importance of incorporating water-efficient irrigation products into residential and commercial landscapes.
“In the last 3 years, our water management line overall has seen about a 30 percent increase in sales,” he says. “Environmental conditions have piqued consciousness which has created a consumer who wants to save water. There is a definite demand which we are willing and ready to meet.”
Though consolidation through acquisition is a current trend for distributors in the industry, Ewing’s growth remains mostly organic.
“By growing organically, there is no brand discrepancy, and customers can be confident in the products and services they will receive,” York adds.
