You’ve got your riding mower to handle serious mow-and-go jobs, and you’ve got your walk-behind for those tighter areas, but Exmark Manufacturing still thinks you’re missing a piece to the equipment puzzle.
According to the Beatrice, Neb.-based mower manufacturer, contractors with high-end residential clients who want things neat and tidy are also going to need a mower that provides a sharp-edged lawn look, bagging every last leaf blade to ensure the cleanest possible property. The company is calling this mower The Navigator and debuted it on Nov. 5 at the Green Industry Expo in Charlotte, N.C.
“Our customers asked us to design a new mowing system that leverages advanced engineering to deliver a signature finish and appearance while at the same time increasing mowing speed and precision,” explained John Cloutier, Exmark’s marketing communications manager. “The Navigator is a natural extension of the Exmark line.”
Available in 42- or 48-inch cutting widths, these new mowers feature a large-diameter blower fan that works in conjunction with Exmark’s baffle design to maximize vacuuming performance and cutting efficiency for a higher quality of cut. The Navigator’s collection system deposits clippings into a 9½-bushel collection hopper through a baffled discharge diffuser design that disperses clippings, allowing full hopper capacity utilization. A standard fill sensor audibly alerts the operator when the hopper is completely full.
The ergonomic positioning of Exmark’s new FeatherTouchTM control system keeps the operator in control of the machine.
Other Navigator features include:
· A 20- or 27-horsepower Kohler Command SP V-twin engine
· Mowing speeds of up to 7 mph forward and 5 mph in reverse
· Flip-up deck design allows quick cleaning and maintenance
· Minimized total lubrication points, including sealed front caster wheel pivots, offer reduced maintenance
· Quick deck-height-adjust system allows easy height adjustment
