LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Each year, the International Lawn, Garden and Power Equipment Expo features the latest product offerings from industry suppliers at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky. Garber Seeder Co.

ST. PARIS, Ohio - Garber Seeder Co. is releasing the Garber Salt Easy spreader at EXPO 2001. Available in both one-bushel and three-bushel capacities, the unit features a stainless steel fan and is coated with a special corrosion resistant finish to resist rust from salt.

The unit’s 12-volt motor has a vinyl cover to resist corrosion from salt. The Garber Salt Easy spreader can fit in most pickup trucks.

Great Northern Equipment

RockVacROGERS, Minn. - Great Northern Equipment has introduced the RockVac, a vacuum unit designed for shovel-free removal of landscape rock, mulch, sand and gravel during renovation projects. The unit draws material through a hose into a hopper. Material is then dumped into a wheelbarrow, skid loader bucket or trailer to remove from a job site or to move to a location for use later.

The unit features the following:

  • 24-hp Honda engine;
  • 850CFM vacuum system;
  • Impact resistant steel hopper; and
  • Heavy-duty hose for drawing material.

Kanga Loaders

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Kanga Loaders is showing the latest additions to its line of skid steer loaders and attachments at EXPO 2001, including the following:

Kanga BackhoeKanga Backhoe

The Kanga Backhoe is an attachment for its line of mini skid-steer loaders.

Featuring twin independent hydraulic stabilizers, the unit can dig up to 6.5 feet deep. The unit also features an unobstructed 360-degree view, allowing the operator to see well when transplanting trees, installing/inspecting underground cable and other general excavating jobs.

The unit also features its own storage rack for transporting from job site to job site.

The Kanga Kid

The Kanga Kid is a mini skid-steer loader that can be maneuvered in and out of tight areas and reduce labor costs on jobs that include digging, loading, trenching, planting and carrying materials. The unit features:

  • 13-hp electric start Honda engine; and
  • Quick-release hydraulic attachments, including standard bucket, mulch bucket, rotor tiller, trencher, carryall leveler, tow hitch, ripper and lift hook.

Kanga TrencherKanga G-524 KC Trencher

For subsoil drainage and irrigation projects, Kanga offers the G-254 KC Trencher. The unit features load sensing hydraulics and an integrated oil cooler.

The KC Trencher digs up to 36 inches deep and up to 12 inches wide. It has twin spoil augers and a crumber bar for creating clean trenches.

The KC Trencher can be coupled with a hydraulic angle back fill blade for back filling.

Power Aisle Inc.

Power Aisle Over & OutHUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. - Power Aisle Inc. is featuring its newly released Over & Out Electronic Hearing Protectors at EXPO 2001. Over & Out allows for normal hearing when worn, however, when sound levels go above 85 Db, the unit defaults to a Noise Reduction Rating of 28 (NRR28).

The hearing protectors feature speakers in each ear pod, a control circuit, a 360-degree microphone and an off/volume control. Users can adjust the unit’s volume for normal or amplified hearing, but when the circuit detects noise levels above 85 Db, such as when a mower or trimmer is running, transmission to the speakers is cut, thereby blocking noise.

The unit features hands-free operation, an LED indicator light and more than 200 hours of battery life.

SimpleTek MowerLift-ZAUGUSTA, Ga. - The MowerLift-Z™, manufactured by SimpleTek Inc., is a mower lift made for zero-turn radius mowers used by lawn care professionals.

The new unit from SimpleTek allows for unobstructed access to the underside of the mower deck for cleaning, changing blades, greasing bearings or other maintenance. It features an adjustable lifting height up to 24 inches.

W.E. Chapps Inc.

W.E. Chapps Chemical Leg ChappsPORT ORANGE, Fla. - W.E. Chapps Inc. will feature its Chemical Leg Chapps, which protect the lower legs and pants during ground spraying applications of pesticides, at the show. The chaps wrap completely around the leg from just above the knee down to the feet and secure with Velcro fasteners.

An elastic "cinch" strap has been added to tighten the top of the chap so it stays in place while walking. Made of butyl rubber, the chaps come in two sizes:

  • Regular: 18 to 22 inches (generally for users under 6 feet tall); and
  • Long: 23 to 27 inches (generally for users over 6 feet tall).
