LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Each year, the International Lawn, Garden and Power Equipment Expo features the latest product offerings from industry suppliers at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky. Groundsaw EZ9000:

EZ-Trench GroundsawThe Groundsaw will trench 100 feet in approximately five minutes, according to EZ-Trench. The unit features:

  • Round steel blade with replaceable carbide bits;
  • On-the-go depth adjustment;
  • Trench digging width of 2 ½ inches and depth from 0 inches to 13 inches;
  • Progressive small bites cut hard clay soils and roots;

Gehl Co.

Gehl Model 7800WEST BEND, Wisc. - Gehl Co. has introduced what it claims to be the world's largest skid loader, the Gehl Model 7800. Powered by a 110-hp turbo diesel engine, the unit has a 3,600 pound SAE operating load rating with a lift height of 11 feet, 10 inches.

"It features vertical-lift linkage," said Kelly Moore, Gehl skid loader product development manager, "which provides consistent forward reach throughout the entire lift cycle."

The unit features the following:

  • 3,300 psi system relief pressure;
  • 40 gpm high-flow auxiliary hydraulics;
  • Standard two-speed drive;
  • Travel speeds up to 14 mph;
  • Optional ride-control that provides floating load arm action;
  • High-back suspension seat;
  • Servo-controlled low-effort levers; and
  • 360-degree visibility.

In addition to the Model 7800, Gehl also introduced the Model 7600, which shares most of the 7800's features but has a 90-hp diesel engine and 3,150 pound rated operating load.

Highway Equipment Co.

Hi-Way Model MPCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Highway Equipment Co., manufacturer of Hi-Way deicing spreaders and leaf vacuums, plans to display the new MP pickup-mounted deicing spreader at EXPO 2001.

Replacing the Hi-Way Model P, the MP is a new design that features a new spinner assembly, the patent-pending Screen-N-Store and a new control panel. The Screen-N-Store serves as a material screen that converts into a stand to store the MP during the off season. The new control panel starts and stops the engine and/or conveyor from the cab, and it may be upgraded to include an optional tach/hourmeter that displays engine RPM and accumulated hours of usage.

The MP is available in one of the following three packages:

  • Basic Pak: equipped with a 10-hp Tecumseh engine;
  • Classic Pak: equipped with a 10.5-hp Briggs & Stratton engine; and
  • Pro Pak: equipped with an 11-hp Honda engine.

The MP is available in lengths from 6 feet to 10 feet, may be hydraulically driven and may be constructed of 304 stainless steel for added resistance to corrosion, depending on buyer’s specifications.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., USA

Kawasaki KEL26AGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The new KEL26A edger from Kawasaki Motors Corp., USA is designed for powerful edging along walkways, driveways and beds.

The unit, which is not available in California, features:

  • Kawasaki TH26, 26 cc engine;
  • Optimum gear reduction ratio;
  • Weighted blade;
  • Wide wheel stance to keep the edger balanced;
  • Adjustable cutting depth;

Kioti Tractor

Kioti Tractor DK 35WILSON, N.C. - Kioti Tractor has released the DK 35, a tractor with a three-cylinder, four-cycle, water-cooled, 35-hp diesel engine.

The four-wheel drive tractor features:
