As thousands of U.S. troops leave their homes to report for active duty, a New York lawn care company is making efforts to ease the burdens imposed on families left behind.
One Step Tree & Lawn Care of North Chili, N.Y., is offering free lawn care for the immediate families of United States military personnel within its Rochester suburb service area.
“Providing free lawn care service is a small way we can help the families of our fighting men and women,” observed Bob Ottley, One Step owner and Weed Man sub-franchiser in New York, Ohio and western Pennsylvania. “Many families whose primary providers are on active duty sacrifice personally and financially. Maybe this will help take one chore off their shoulders.”
The first 500 families to contact One Step and verify that family members from their homes are now away on active military duty will qualify for the free services. The complimentary service will continue until the military family member returns home or until the end of the 2003 service season, whichever comes first.
