BURLINGTON, Ontario – Green industry software manufacturer Garden Graphics has has changed its name to DynaSCAPE Software, the company reports. The name change was official on the first of the year and also encompasses updated names for its design, estimating and management software programs.
“This change acknowledges the strength of the DynaSCAPE name and is a strategic decision to build a master brand around the DynaSCAPE name and strengthen our presence in the industry,” says Everett DeJong, senior vice president of marketing and communications for the company. “It simplifies our product line and strengthens our marketing message as a source of professional quality software that uniquely integrates design, quotation and comprehensive business management tools.”
DynaSCAPE Marketing Director Dave Malda tells Lawn & Landscape that the former Garden Graphics name was sometimes misconstrued by tradeshow goers and other potential clients who were unaware that the company produced software. “We also found that a lot of people liked the name of our DynaSCAPE software and would often refer to us as ‘DynaSCAPE,’ instead of ‘Garden Graphics,’” he explains. “We took our cue from there and decided to pick up on the DynaSCAPE word and use it across the board.”
DeJong adds the DynaSCAPE name more accurately reflects the full-service design and business management capabilities of the software and is a better representation of the company’s customer base, which includes landscape professionals in all fields, including design, maintenance, lawn care, tree, irrigation, nursery and lighting.
Malda says the process of changing over identities has taken about three months to get to this point, and that there’s still some work to do behind the scenes. “We have a lot of automated systems in the office that send out e-mails and other functions that still have the Garden Graphics name and will have to be switched over,” he says. “We’re continually uncovering things that will need to be updated, but we’re trying to make the process as smooth as possible so as not to confuse our current or potential clients.”
PRODUCT UPDATES. In addition to updating the corporate name, DynaSCAPE also is renaming the products in its line of software offerings. While the products and will remain the same, DynaSCAPE says their new names will more effectively demonstrate each component’s strength. Changes include:
| Former Name | New Name |
| DynaSCAPE Startup Edition | DynaSCAPE Design LT |
| Iris Quotation Edition | DynaSCAPE Quote |
| DynaSCAPE PRO | DynaSCAPE Design & Quote |
| DynaSCAPE PRO for AutoCAD® | DynaSCAPE Design & Quote for AutoCAD® |
| IRIS PRO | DynaSCAPE Manage |
| DynaSCAPE/IRIS PRO Combo | DynaSCAPE Design & Manage |
| DynaSCAPE/IRIS PRO for AutoCAD® | DynaSCAPE Design & Manage for AutoCAD® |
“We are confident that changing our software module names will make it easier for potential customers to get a faster handle on how our product lines can benefit their businesses,” DeJong says.
NEW WEB SITE. Finally, DynaSCAPE also has launched an updated Web site to match its new identity. The new site, DynaSCAPE.com, replaces www.gardengraphics.com, which Malda says will remain active for a month or more as functions, information and support are transferred to the new Web site. This will be of primary benefit to existing customers, though new DynaSCAPE customers can visit the new DynaSCAPE Web site for all the information they need.
In addition to new functionality and information, DynaSCAPE says the Web enhancements will make it easier for users to navigate the site. The new site will offer easy access to product information and a growing range of business case studies that profile successful DynaSCAPE implementations.
“We designed our new site using customer feedback to provide better access to product information and features, as well short case studies that profile a typical range of customers who successfully use DynaSCAPE,” says DeJong. “The site will also make it easy for qualified prospects to take our free 45-day free software trial, at no obligation.”
