Gardeners’ Guild, a 100-percent employee-owned landscape contractor noted for its comprehensive services and innovative Sustainable Landscape Management programs has received two awards for its Safety & Team-Building Jamboree.
The Safety Jamboree is an annual company wide event that features a partnership of Gardeners’ Guild’s professional service vendors and equipment suppliers. The event is held at the San Rafael Community Center and features a variety of health, safety, ownership, team building and hands-on equipment training for the entire staff. The goal is to build awareness in the company that, by working together, everyone will be successful and work safely. The “ownership” behaviors that are developed translate into a workforce that is empowered to take constructive action on behalf of the customer.
The Zenith, Gardeners’ Guild’s workers’ compensation insurance provider, awarded Gardeners’ Guild The Zenith Safety Award for Outstanding Performance, citing the company’s “diligent efforts in enhancing the organizational culture.” Additionally, the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association – California/Western States Chapter, awarded Gardeners’ Guild the 2004 Best ESOP Event award for the Safety & Team-Building Jamboree.
