WASHINGTON - Frank Gasperini has joined RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) as the new director of state issues. His responsibilities include overseeing state and local regulatory and legislative issues for the national association that represents the manufacturers, formulators, distributors and other industry leaders involved with pesticide products used in turf, ornamental, pest control, aquatic and terrestrial vegetation management and other non-food/fiber applications.
Gasperini has been in the agricultural and specialty crop protection/pesticide business since 1975. He has experience in a variety of roles ranging from sales and marketing management to environmental issues with DuPont, Gowan, Lesco and Van Waters & Rogers.
Gasperini has served on a number of committees and work groups for RISE, American Crop Protection Association and regional/state associations and is a past chair of the RISE Issues Committee. He fills the position of Fred Langley who retired in August after a 34-year commitment to the pesticide industry, the last six years as manager of state government relations for RISE (see RISE’s Langley Announces Retirement).
Raised in Ohio, Gasperini earned bachelors and masters degrees in agriculture from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago, Ill.
