The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) continues its commitment to strong safety programs for the green industry with a specialized session titled “Protecting Your Investment: Prevention Measures for Small Businesses,” sponsored by CNA. This session, presented by Gary Clevenger, CSP, CRIS, STS, and Leslie Herndon, CLT, will be held at PLANET’s Green Industry Conference (GIC) in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 24–27, and is one of many educational sessions that will be available to GIC attendees.
The course is part of the CNA School of Risk Control Excellence curriculum and is usually available only to CNA clients or through a CNA designated agent or broker. Providing this session at GIC and making it available to everyone, therefore, is an exciting opportunity for members of the green industry to expand their safety knowledge.
Geared toward owners of small businesses or safety coordinators that wear many other hats within their companies, the course will help people understand some key risks that can impact the company’s bottom line and help strengthen safety programs in the process. Attendees will learn how losses can affect the bottom-line profit for a business, discuss strategies to manage workers’ compensation, and learn about resources to help get their safety program on track while performing other job functions.
GIC is the country’s premier annual educational and networking conference for the green industry. Education is offered for each specialty group, and special Hispanic, financial, and safety sessions are offered as well. Featuring fun events like a live benefit auction, facility tours, free concerts, and lively roundtable breakfast gatherings, GIC offers something for every person involved in the green industry. This year’s conference registration will also include attendance at the larger-than-ever GIE EXPO, which includes a 20-acre outdoor demonstration area and more than 500 indoor exhibitors, and is located in the Kentucky Expo Center along with GIC.
The Green Industry Conference platinum sponsor is John Deere, and the gold sponsor is Bayer Environmental Science.
