Finnish company Avant Tecno USA debuted its latest articulated loader at GIE+EXPO. The fully electric, battery powered Avant e5 is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
The electric machine runs with limited noise and emissions and features an in-machine charging unit. The charging unit connects to any 230V/16A power outlet and the loader can run while charging.
A e240Ah lead acid battery allows the e5 to operate anywhere between one and five hours on a full depending on workload.
Jani Käkelä, director of sales and marketing, said the battery on the e5 can withstand 1500 charging cycles.
“After the 1500 cycles, it is recommended you replace the battery,” he said. “But the battery will still have 80 percent of its full power after that many cycles.”
The e5 is currently available in Europe and is expected to hit U.S. dealers next spring.
