Bayer’s Altus insecticide provides flexibility

Bayer released its Altus insecticide during GIE+EXPO to offer LCOs flexibility, as it controls sucking pests on ornamentals before, during and after bloom. It also provides compatibility with honey bees and bumblebees. Altus provides the following benefits:

• It provides broad-spectrum control of important sucking pests, including whiteflies, aphids, leafhoppers, mealybugs, psyllids, scale and lace bugs.

• Systemic and translaminar protection of existing and new plant growth.

• It’s classified by the EPA as a reduced-risk product.

• Altus is complementary when used in conjunction with integrated pest management programs.

Bayer has been developing this product for 10 years, and it contains the active ingredient Flupyradifurone, which was inspired by natural product stemofoline – a derivative from the Asian plant Stemona japonica.
