Bob-Cat RS Series mowers

During GIE+EXPO 2017, Bob-Cat released a new design on its RS Series, zero-turn mower lineup. Mowers include the XRZ Pro RS, FastCat Pro RS, ProCat RS and Predator-Pro RS.

  • The mowers feature black rims, black belt covers, darker seats and green ROPS to create an aggressive vibe.
  • Zero-turn drive tires provide improved grip on side hills, improved puncture resistance, reduced turf damage and are self-driving.
  • They have fully mechanical, adjustable suspension seats for comfort.
  • Mowers come with a six-year company warranty.

DR Power Equipment PRO-26 Field and Brush Mower

At GIE+EXPO 2017, DR Power Equipment unveiled an expansion to its field and brush mower lineup with the new PRO-26 Field and Brush Mower with power steering. It features a disc brake system that provides power steering.

  • Each wheel has its own brake, which is operated by a hand lever. 
  • A 14.5 hp Briggs and Stratton Intek engine powers the mower.
  • It features an electric start that allows the unit to easily drive its 26-inch pivoting brush deck across hilly terrain and cut through saplings as thick as 2.5 inches.
  • The mower's full-pressure oil pump allows it to operate on slopes up to 20 degrees.
  • Geared transmission offers three forward speeds and one reverse so users can lock in their ground speed and focus on steering.
  • The PRO-26 incorporates the DR quick-change coupling system so the brush mowing deck can be swapped for other attachments like a 42-inch finish mower, a 30-inch snow thrower, a wood chipper or a 42-inch grader blade.

 

 

KOHLER 5400 Series

Designed to bring easy starting and quiet, smooth operation to lawn tractor applications, the new single-cylinder engine line includes models between 17 and 19.5 hp. Key features encompass a new Triple-Balance System, which was specially designed to significantly reduce vibration.

  • The Smart-Choke Technology allows users to Just Turn-the-Key and Go without having to prime or choke the engine.

  • The 5400 Series incorporates the company’s Consistent-Cut Technology, which helps to maintain engine speed in tough conditions for a cleaner turf cut.

  • An inverted oil filter allows for dripless oil changes, while ergonomic quarter-turn knobs provide easy access to the air filter for quick, tool-free replacement.

 

 

New Holland C-Series mini excavators

New Holland Construction showcased its new lineup of compact excavators at GIE+EXPO. The company introduced its E17C, E26C, E33C, E37C, E57C and E60C.

  • The six new models range from 1.7 to 6 metric tons.
  • All models include extended life components, liquid-cooled industrial Tier 4 Final compliant diesel engines, an auto-shift traveling system and lower noise levels.
  • Performance features include rail and interlocking-type track; auto shift travel system that automatically downshifts when load is sensed to increase torque; and auto idle to automatically idle when an operator doesn’t give input to the control handles and returns to throttle setting when an operator moves the stick.
  • The variable undercarriage on the E17C model retracts for entry through tight egresses and it extends for stability.
  • ESL system (anti-theft) also requires a passcode to start the engine and time between engine starts can be manually set.
  • The cab features strong forward visibility with excavator-style window and removable lower window. 

 

Spider

The new Spider 2SGS is a remote-controlled mower specially designed for the maintenance of turf areas around photovoltaic (PV) panels on solar farms.

Adapted from their Spider ILD02 slope mower, the Spider 2SGS features upgraded hydraulic motors and a lower profile for maintaining the turf beneath and around PV panels.  New rubber fenders have been added to reduce any impact damage to the sensitive framework supporting the panels.

Still in the prototype phase, the 3RIDER provides the option for the operator to sit on the machine to drive it, or control it via remote control when slopes are too extreme. 

Following the initial development of this multi-functional mower, long-term testing is now being carried out to determine its robustness in real and varying conditions.

The 3RIDER has three steering options.

  • The first option is the DANCE STEP, where all wheels are steered together in 360 degrees.  
  • The second option is the Ackerman steering system, as used on the majority of today’s motor vehicles, which allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds for safe cornering.
  • The final option is zero turn. In this mode, all four wheels can be positioned at 45 degrees allowing the Spider 3RIDER to turn around its vertical axis.

 

 

 

Steiner 450 Tractor

Steiner unveiled its 450 tractor at GIE+EXPO 2017, which incorporates an intelligent design and increased durability, hydraulic performance and efficiency.

  • The Steiner 450 is capable of climbing hills and slopes with ease in comparison with other machines.
  • It includes an articulating and oscillating frame, which makes it a good fit for operators using it for tight turns and uneven terrain.
  • The easy-to-use Quick-Hitch attachment system along with 20 attachments make it a year-round machine.
  • It comes with three engine options, a low center of gravity and a wide stance. Customers can choose from the following engines: a Kubota 25-horsepower, liquid-cooled diesel; a Kubota 32-horsepower, liquid-cooled gasoline; or a 37-horsepower Vanguard EFT air-cooled gasoline engine.
  • It integrates an on-the-fly Hydraulic Weight Transfer System and Durable Peerless 2600 dual range transaxles.
  • Ground speeds reach 6 mph in low gear and 9.5 mph in high gear. 

 

 

Vermeer BC1800xl Gas Brush Chipper

Vermeer continues to expand its line of gas chippers with the introduction of the BC1800XL gas brush chipper — its largest, most powerful gas model to date.

  • It's outfitted with a 165 hp (123 kW) PSI 5.7 L gas engine that can handle logs up to 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter.
  • The onboard Vermeer SmartFeed control system helps maximize the chipper’s performance by monitoring engine rpms, sensing jams and automatically stopping or reversing the rollers.
  • The unit’s vertical feed rollers with helical cleats are designed to hold material firmly, to minimize vibration, shock and structural loading to the rear of the machine.

 

 

Vermeer S925TX Mini Skid-steer

Vermeer has expanded its compact equipment lineup with the new S925TX mini skid-steer, designed to provide impressive lifting performance and the power.

  • It has a tip capacity of 2,643 pounds (1,198.8 kg), a rated operating capacity of 925 pounds (419.6 kg) and maximum hinge pin height reach of 84.5 inches (214.6 cm).
  • The new mini skid steer features a dual auxiliary system which allows the operator to switch between high flow for ground-engaging attachments and low flow for maximum control.

  • It is also equipped with a universal mounting plate that fits a broad range of Vermeer-approved attachments.

Vermeer SPX25 Vibratory Plow

The new Vermeer SPX25 vibratory plow is designed for fast and efficient cable/fiber and irrigation system installation.

  • It features a full-function remote control that gives the operator a 360-degree view of the jobsite, helping to avoid potential obstacles and an unobstructed view of the product being installed.
  • The SPX25 vibratory plow is compact, powerful and built with tracks to minimize ground disturbance. 

  • For efficient turning, while installing utilities around obstacles, the SPX25 unit is equipped with a pivot-mounted plow that has a 55-degree swing angle that automatically adjusts when turning. 

 

WORX 10-inch 20V Chainsaw

Worx has added its first cordless chainsaw to its line of electric yard tools with the introduction of a new 10-inch, 20V Power Share model.

  • The new saw has all the same exclusive features as other WORX electric chainsaws, including automatic, tool-less chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication.
  • The cordless chainsaw is powered by a compact, 20V, MAX Lithium 2.0 Ah battery, which is equipped with a built-in fuel gauge.
  • It is equipped with a 10-inch, low-kickback bar and has a 3/8-inch chain pitch.

 

 

WORX 20V polesaw and chainsaw

The 20V polesaw and chainsaw has a tool-free chain tensioning system and automatic chain lubrication with oil level indicator.

  • It features a maximum 10-foot reach with pole extension and tool-less extension pole installation.
  • It weighs 10.4 pounds.
  • The pole saw is powered by a compact, 20V, MAX Lithium 2.0 Ah battery, which features a built-in fuel gauge. Charge level of the battery can be instantly monitored by pressing an electronic keypad.

The company also introduced a 20-volt MAX 4.0 Ah battery with a built-in fuel gauge.
